TYRES

17” Michelin tyres. The tyre specifications available at each event will be determined by the Michelin. The teams are required to return all tyres to Michelin at the end of each event or test. The use of Tyre Air Pressure Sensors (TAPS) on all wheels, front and rear, is mandatory in the MotoGP class.

EXHAUST

Akrapovic double exhaust pipe made of titanium.

GEARBOX

Six-speed gearbox seamless system. Twin clutch transmission systems (DSG) are not permitted in MotoGP.

ENGINE

Suzuki engine is a 1000cc inline four-cylinder with four valves per cylinder, water-cooled, 4 Stroke DOHC (double overhead camshaft). It develops a maximum output Over 176kw (240 PS). It’s an aspirated engine. The maximum speed is over 340 km/h The number of engines available for use by each permanent contracted rider is limited to 7 for all of the scheduled races of a season of up to 20 races.

FUEL TANK

The maximum capacity of fuel on the championship technical rules is 22L.

CHASSIS

Twin Spar aluminium frame. As well as the engine the chassis has to be a prototype.

SUSPENSION

Öhlins front inverted fork and Öhlins swingarm for the rear suspension. Electric/electronic controlled suspension, ride height and steering damper systems are not allowed.

BRAKES

Carbon brakes made by Brembo with an outside diameter of 320 mm ( 340 mm for safety reasons are permited in some circuits as Motegi) Steel discs are available for wet races. The brake lever protection is mandatory for safety reasons Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS) are not permitted.

AERODINAMICS

Devices or shapes protruding from the fairing or bodywork and not integrated in the body streamlining (eg. wings, fins, bulges, etc.) that may provide an aerodynamic effect (eg. providing downforce, disrupting aerodynamic wake, etc.) are not allowed.
