2020 has been, and still is, a tough year for many people around the world, with the Covid-19 pandemic spreading and bringing many people to their knees. The MotoGP World Championship has been affected too, with a delayed start and a totally revised calendar, which unfortunately saw all the overseas races cancelled, and meant strict safety protocols were put in place.
The absence of guests in the paddock and fans in the grandstands is the most obvious result of the necessary protocols, but behind the scenes the way of working in the garage has changed too, with protective masks needed to be worn at all times. Personal protection and safety are a priority in the Team, in order to prevent the virus spreading and to keep riders and team members secure.
With this target in mind, U-Earth is providing us with special masks and air purifiers to be used in the second half of the 2020 MotoGP World Championship.
U-Masks are a whole new product using the power of biotechnology. It doesn’t just block air contaminants on the mask surface, it destroys them inside the mask. U-earth and an Italian team of researchers has identified a molecule - a polymeric mixture containing a natural active ingredient - capable of inhibiting the growth of bacteria and microbes, which severely limits the risk of contracting multidrug-resistant microorganisms and transmitting pathogens between humans. This is affixed to a layer of filtration fabric, and this inner filter can be used for up to 200 hours of protection, so that team members can simply change it at every race weekend. The masks are also made from a comfortable material created from recycled plastics taken from the ocean. More info about the U-Masks can be found here: https://www.u-mask.eu/technology.
The air purifiers are the most up to date technology in terms of air purification and sanitisation. U-Earth has created a wide range of bioreactors in a variety of different sizes to ensure professional-standard air purification in any setting. Two purifiers were installed in the Team Suzuki Ecstar garage at Le Mans and will stay for the remaining races, ensuring purification of the air for the whole team thanks to the innovative and patent pending additive. More info about the U-Earth technology can be found here: https://www.u-earth.eu/technology.
U-Masks and air purifiers can be purchased by anyone who needs them, and part of the profits from sales will be used to donate air purifiers to hospitals throughout the COVID-19 crisis, preventing cross-contamination and creating Pure Air Zones within healthcare. More info about this initiative can be found here: https://www.u-mask.eu/impact.
This is a new and innovative way to actively fight against the spread of Covid-19 by acting responsively according to the rules and personal ethics. These products are especially effective when used alongside responsible behaviour that includes wearing the mask at all times, frequent hand washing, and maintaining social distance when talking with other people.
It is our commitment as team members, professionals, and even as human beings to act responsibly for the good of the others, and Team Suzuki Ecstar are happy to have found a truly passionate, responsible, and technically advanced partner in U-Earth.
