This weekend we aren’t just racing against the chequered flag, we have taken on a new challenge to race alongside Unoentrecienmil in the fight against infant leukaemia.
Unoentrecienmil, is a Spanish NGO formed by thousands of people who join forces for a common cause; to find a cure for infant leukaemia. Unoentrecienmil, which translates as ‘one in one hundred thousand’, launch new research projects every year, fighting to put an end to this disease. Leukaemia affects three kids in every hundred thousand in Spain, which means 300 new cases every year. Sadly, 20% of these children don’t overcome the disease.
In the 6 years that the charity has been running, many international brands and people have joined the cause with amazing support like the Spanish Basketball Team and its 'The Golden laces' project, award-winning actress Penélope Cruz, and Spanish department store El Corte Inglés.
Of course, Team SUZUKI ECSTAR did not want to miss the opportunity to team up with this extremely worthy cause, and so we are joining the battle in the best way we know how; during this final Grand Prix of the season at Valencia.

During this season finale, you will see all the team members wearing the gold shoe laces to support Unoentrecienmil, as the Spanish Basketball Team did last summer, and we are also having a magical visit from seven children, who have joined us to enjoy the Valencian GP and all its thrills.
They have already met the Team SUZUKI ECSTAR riders and all the team members, and the positive energy shared between us all is incredible! You just need to look at the pictures to feel it.
And soon you’ll be able to hear it too; yesterday they became the youngest journalists to interview Alex Rins & Joan Mir on 'Radio Pelona' their own radio program in collaboration with Marca. They shared some funny jokes and interesting questions!
Some children with this disease enjoyed in the Team SUZUKI ECSTAR garage with the riders Alex Rins and Joan Mir.
These little heroes were thrilled to join us, and we feel very proud to have met them - we will certainly remember their bright smiles every time we walk into the pit box with our golden laces!
A truly special and emotional race weekend is awaiting us. Stay tuned to watch all the super moments in our video, and listen out for the radio show podcast too!
Further more, after Sunday’s race, Team SUZUKI ECSTAR will hand Unoentrecienmil some items gifted by Alex Rins and Joan Mir for fundraising.
